What skills do you provide in addition to woodworking?
I will plan and organize the project to achieve your goals. When necessary, I also provide electrical, plumbing and fiberglass work. Sometimes I design hardware, have a welder fabricate it, and then I perform the install. If needed, I have contacts in the industry who I call on for additional expertise.
Do you design as well as build?
Yes. I start with your vision of the final result. My primary skills are design and construction of new interiors and accessories. When called for I can match the existing look with the same design, wood and finish.
How far from the St. Petersburg/Tampa area do you work?
As far as needed. I have worked all across Florida, the Gulf Coast and the Eastern Seaboard. I spent six weeks in Illinois repairing a Chris Craft and three months in France working on a 77’ Rhodes.
Do you subcontract work?
On occasion I bring in trades such as mechanics or HVAC technicians. I will arrange and oversee things like carpet installation or electronics. Almost all of the work (90-95%) is performed by me and I am on the boat whenever any of my contracted work is done.
How do you determine pricing?
The majority of my projects are billed on a time and materials basis. I charge an hourly rate and I bill materials at my cost without markup. If you prefer a bid for the cost of work, I am happy to provide one.
Is scheduled maintenance available?
Yes. Anything that you want maintained (i.e. varnish work) can be scheduled in advance.
What do you work on in addition to Boats?
I work on houses, condos and RVs. I also design and make furniture for homes, offices and public spaces.
